Today we found our 200th geocache. Our first one was back at the beginning of June and as is usually the case it was the closest one to our home. Well that is to say it was the closest one that was actually there. The actual closest one at that time had gone missing so we couldn’t find it. Funny thing is that our 200th cache is also our closest cache to home. This interesting situation has occurred as the cache in question GC4MCF9 Garage for Birds and Frogs, has only just been added and it is closer to us than our first find was. Funny how things happen sometimes, isn’t it?
I wrote back in August about our first 100 caches and it is surprising that we have added the next hundred so soon. The journey to 200 has included 2 multi caches, we had never done those before. A very memorable cache at the highest point in Hertfordshire… memorable because I got engaged on that day. We have been to Mill Hill, Shenley, Harrow, Rickmansworth, Letchmore Heath, Harpenden and Herefield amongst other places. We have been rained on and had the sun beat down on us. Lots of stinging nettles… I really must get some gloves!! We have seen horses and cows and even a water vole I think. I have logged 3 caches entirely on my own we also attended our first ever event… and got pleasantly drunk on Real Ale. And now? Well now things are about to get very interesting. We are about to place our first cache… giving something back to the community that has given us so much. Onwards and upwards!
